About Taskglass
Taskglass is a native macOS app that shows what's slowing, heating or draining your Mac, and explains it in plain English. It's made by Junaid and sold by Xermio, an independent software studio.
Why Taskglass exists
When a Mac gets slow, hot or loud, Activity Monitor shows hundreds of processes with names like kernel_task, WindowServer and mds_stores, and no explanation. Taskglass answers the questions people actually have: which app is doing it, why, whether it's safe to quit, and what happened an hour ago when the fans spun up.
It's built to stay out of the way: native Swift, a 6 MB download, about 0.2% of one CPU core in the background, and a live readout of its own cost so you can check that claim yourself.
Who makes it
Taskglass is designed and built by Junaid, founder of Xermio, a small studio that makes native apps for the Mac. Junaid also writes the guides, the Process Library and the comparisons on this site. Spotted a mistake? Email hi@taskglass.app and it gets fixed.
