What is chrome_crashpad_handler on Mac?

By Junaid, maker of Taskglass · Last reviewed

Crash reporter for Chrome and many Chromium/Electron apps; waits quietly in case of crashes.

Crashpad is the crash-reporting tool from the Chromium project. Chrome, Edge and many Electron apps (like Slack, Discord or Obsidian) start a crashpad handler that waits in the background and records a report if the app crashes. It normally uses almost no CPU and little memory. Check its file path to see which app it belongs to.
