What is CleanMyMac on Mac?

By Junaid, maker of Taskglass · Last reviewed

MacPaw's Mac cleaning and maintenance app, with a menu bar monitor and background helpers.

CleanMyMac is a third-party maintenance app. Besides the main app it runs background items: a menu bar app, a Health Monitor that tracks system status for the menu, an agent for privileged tasks, and an updater. These keep running after you close the main window, by design.
