What is Discord on Mac?

By Junaid, maker of Taskglass · Last reviewed

The Discord chat and voice app (built on Electron) and its helper processes.

Discord's desktop app is built on Electron, so it runs a main process plus Renderer, GPU and utility helpers. Voice and video calls, screen sharing and busy servers with animated content all increase its CPU and memory use.
