What is runningboardd on Mac?

By Junaid, maker of Taskglass · Last reviewed

Decides how much priority and freedom each running app and helper gets.

runningboardd manages process 'assertions': requests that keep an app or helper running, awake or at a certain priority while it does something important. It helps macOS decide what can be paused or limited to save energy. It's always running and normally light.
