What is SystemUIServer on Mac?

By Junaid, maker of Taskglass · Last reviewed

Hosts some menu bar items and other bits of the system interface.

SystemUIServer is a long-standing macOS process that hosts some menu bar items and related system interface pieces. In recent versions of macOS most of Apple's menu bar icons moved to Control Center, so SystemUIServer usually does very little. If something it shows freezes, quitting it is harmless because it relaunches immediately.
