What is taskgated on Mac?

By Junaid, maker of Taskglass · Last reviewed

Decides whether one program may inspect or control another, such as a debugger attaching to an app.

taskgated implements the policy for a sensitive system service that lets one process access another's internals, which debuggers and some developer tools need. The kernel asks taskgated to approve or deny such requests. It's normally idle.
