By Junaid, maker of Taskglass · Last reviewed

Registers your devices with Apple so iMessage, FaceTime and Continuity can reach them.

identityservicesd runs Apple's Identity Services, which register your Mac and your other Apple devices under your Apple Account. iMessage, FaceTime, Handoff and other Continuity features use it to find and securely message your devices. It's normally light.
